Sell or Assign Members

WooCommerce Memberships is easily integrated into WooCommerce.  It’s one of the top WordPress membership plugin on the internet right now.  With WooCommerce, you can sell your sites’ different memberships in your eCommerce store.

After purchase, your customers will be given access to member restricted content.

In other words, you can create a membership then tie the membership to a WooCommerce product.  In addition, you can manually assign members to different memberships levels on your site.

For example, you can add your friend to a Family & Friends membership.

In addition, WooCommerce Memberships allows you to grant restricted content to customers if they buy certain products.  For example, you’ll grant a customer your restricted travel tips section on your blog if they buy your travel books.

The WooCommerce Membership plugin allows you to tie multiple products to a single membership.

For example, you can tie aprons, pots, pans, or utensils to a recipe membership on your cooking blog.   In other words, a customer will be given membership to your cooking blog if they bought aprons, pots, pans, or utensils.

Lastly, the WooCommerce plugins allows you to assign a different membership periods.  This is great for people trying to monetize their blogs with different memberships lengths like 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months.

The WooCommerce Membership plugin even has the ability to allow lifetime memberships if you click on “unlimited”.  The choices are endless with one of the top WordPress plugins.   WooCommerce Memberships Review: + Start A Membership Site With WordPress

Restrict Content

WooCommerce Memberships gives you the ability to restrict content.  For example, you can restrict certain tags, categories, projects, or pages with it.  In addition, the WordPress membership plugin allows you can offer members discounts on your products or grant members the ability to purchase limited edition products.

For example, members will get a 10% discount on all your t-shirts or members can purchase a limited edition sign CD.  It incentives your members to stay members.

In addition, with WooCommerce plugins, you can grant access to your online tutorials if visitors decide to purchase a membership to your site.  It’s only expected from one of the top WordPress plugins.  WooCommerce Memberships Review: + Start A Membership Site With WordPress

Restrict Content

Drip Content

WooCommerce Memberships allows you to drip your content to ensure people don’t cancel after they get what they want.  The WordPress membership plugin helps you protect your content and it keeps members interested in your content too.

For example, you can allow certain pages to be available on the first month, the second month will have certain content, and so forth.  It’s a strategic way to control all your hard work, so members don’t get access immediately.

The WooCommerce plugins lets you offer free trial period.  This includes the drip content too. You can allow certain content during the trial period then slowly drip your content over the membership period.  It really works great with WooCommerce Subscriptions to be discussed later in this review.

In addition, you can offering renewal discounts and membership upgrades with WooCommerce Memberships.  The possibility is endless with one of the top WordPress plugins.   WooCommerce Memberships Review: + Start A Membership Site With WordPress

Member Dashboard

WooCommerce Memberships has a members’ dashboard. It makes it easy for members to access all their membership perks.  In addition, the members’ dashboard lets them know when they’ll have access to certain content.

For example, tutorials will be available in their 3rd month of a 6 month membership.  It’s a good way to keep them excited and they’re aware of your membership timelines.

WooCommerce makes some of the top WordPress plugins on the internet.  They have great functions and they’re powerful tools.  However, the majority of their plugins aren’t aesthetically pleasing to look at.  I think this is one of the biggest negative about WooCommerce plugins.

The WordPress membership plugin does a fantastic job at everything else.  However, it’s navigation sucks.  They don’t have great filter options or easy to navigate especially their store.  In my opinion, it takes one too many clicks for members to access their perks.

The dashboard should have all the membership perks front and center.  It’s great that everything is listed out, but it takes one or two clicks to get to.  In addition, the member dashboard isn’t very responsive with its text as seen below in the screenshot.  WooCommerce Memberships Review: + Start A Membership Site With WordPress

WooCommerce Memberships

Groups/Companies

WooCommerce Memberships is not like other WordPress membership plugin.  With the WooCommerce plugins, you can sell to groups and companies.  For example, a company decides to signup for your online training courses.

You can sell them group memberships and allow a certain number of employees to have access to those courses.  It’s a great way to boost recurring revenue.

In addition, you don’t have to manage the employees.  The group or company will manage who will be able to access your content.  The feature is great because it gives you one less thing to do.  It’ll be a pain to consistently update the member listing if you have 10 groups or companies.

It’s why WooCommerce Memberships is one of the top WordPress plugins on the internet. WooCommerce Memberships Review: + Start A Membership Site With WordPress

WooCommerce Subscriptions

WooCommerce Membership is one of the best WordPress membership plugin.  However, it lacks one thing.  It lacks automatic membership renewals.  In other words, it lacks a recurring payments.

Without recurring payments, memberships will be interrupted and members will have to manually renew their memberships.  It’s a negative when it comes to user experience.

However, there is another WooCommerce plugin to help with this issue.  WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin lets you set automatic recurring renewals with your memberships.  In addition, there’s an option for manual renewals; however, I would suggest turning off that option because it’ll result in lost revenue for you.

With the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin, recurring payments will be easy and WooCommerce will automatically process the next period’s payment.

Lastly, WooCommerce Subscriptions and WooCommerce Memberships integrates with PayPal, Stripe, Amazon Pay, Square, and more.  Check out the full payment gateways here.    WooCommerce Memberships Review: + Start A Membership Site With WordPress

WooCommerce Membership Review Conclusion

WooCommerce Memberships is definitely one of the best WordPress membership plugin.  It’s also one of the top WordPress plugins.  It’s the most popular WooCommerce plugins for people looking for recurring income from a membership site.

The WooCommerce Membership plugin can be tied to products, sold to groups or companies, and it can restrict content.  Plus, it allows drip content.  What’s not to love about it?

The only negative I see is the members’ dashboard.  It’s not aesthetically pleasing and it’s a little hard to navigate.  It’s the only drawback about WooCommerce plugins.

They function really well and they’re powerful tools.  It does get sometime to get used to it.  I’ve had members complain about it how hard it is to navigate their members dashboard.

However, after a few times, they got used to it.  There’s always Magic Member, MemberMouse, and MemberPress.  Those are worth checking out too.
